November 21st, 2014

The National Trust for Historic Preservation has selected the Wing Luke Museum of the Asian Pacific American Experience to receive the 2014 Trustees’ Emeritus Award for Excellent in the Stewardship of Historic Sites.

“The Wing Luke Museum has not only established itself as an economic anchor for Seattle’s historic Chinatown-International District, it has also been a creative force for enriching the public’s understanding and appreciation of Asian Pacific American history and culture,” said Stephanie Meeks, president of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. “There is much that museums and other cultural institutions around the country can learn from the Wing Luke Museum and its success in engaging the community in this exciting restoration project.”
