Located on the top two floors of a luxury condominium, this penthouse was extensively renovated to take advantage of the 270-degree views of the Olympics, Elliott Bay and downtown Seattle. Nearly 6,000 sf of interior space and 2,000 sf of exterior decks, rooms were reconfigured to allow for generous gathering spaces that seamlessly transition to the outdoors. With the client’s desire for clean lines and modern spaces, materials such as straight-grained, amber-colored afromosia for casework and paneling, blackened steel for the hearths and staircases, and smooth warm-grey Milestone for benches and wall finishes were chosen to form a palette that is restrained, yet refined.
