Hing Hay Coworks

Coworking space for the next generation of neighborhood entrepreneurs

This exciting new use of space offers shared resources and collaboration opportunities to inspire a new generation of talent to unlock the potential of a culturally diverse neighborhood.

The opportunity to leverage the assets of established neighborhoods and transform them into something new for the next generation inspires us. The Hing Hay Coworks in the historic Bush Hotel building was formerly the home of a Korean restaurant. Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) had the vision of creating a brand new type of space that would inspire design entrepreneurs and small businesses to reimagine the neighborhood as a place for innovation and future thinking.

Respectful of the client’s limited resources and aspirational vision, we designed the space to be flexible with varying levels of privacy – booths for phone calls, open desks for coworkers, a conference room closed for private meetings or open for workshop presentations.

“One of the main things that I hope Hing Hay Coworks will become is another ladder of opportunity for the community,” Quang Nguyen, SCIDpda Senior Economic Development Specialist
